Dining with Diabetes


Diabetes is a common and costly disease but there is good news for Kansans with diabetes. Diabetes can be controlled. Studies show that complications of diabetes, such as blindness, kidney failure and amputation can be prevented if blood sugar is controlled most of the time. Following a meal plan is the first step in controlling blood sugar. For some, this is also the hardest step in diabetes management. Persons enrolled in this class will learn how to fix healthful and tasty meals. Sign up to get a taste of how to take charge of diabetes for life. A local pharmacist will provide an update on diabetic medications.

 

Dates: Thursday, October 29, November 5, 12 and 19

Time: 3 – 5 p.m.

Fee: $20 per person, or $30 per household with payment by October 15.
